Nicholas Roerich

Nicolas Roerich Nikolai Konstantinovich Roerich was born in 1874 in St. Petersburg in a family of Russian high bourgeoisie. He studied law and enrolled simultaneously in the Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg. In 1899, he met Helena Ivanovna Shaposhnikova, a gifted pianist and a woman of great spirituality, whom he married in 1901.
Early on, he showed curiosity and talent for many activities, and 9, a renowned archaeologist who had in his region to conduct exploration work took him with him.
